February Fishing

Fishing this time of year can be both frustrating and rewarding depending on the weather.  The redfish are schooled up tight on flats.  The fish are on these flats for two reasons: don't get eaten by dolphins and warmth.  These fish are very spooky this time of year.  Be very quiet when approaching these schools of fIsh.  Artificial lures and cut bait work well this time of year.  The sheepshead are still here and hungry!  Trout are still around but are very finicky due to cold temperatures.  These fish enjoy smaller baits worked very slowly.  A live shrimp on a Carolina rig works well year round!
